You wouldn’t love me

I wish things were different

And although you lay next to me

In these sheets,

There is an emptiness in this place that i cannot escape

There is a hollowness that haunts your eyes when you look at me.

A flashing memory that takes you away from me, again.

Fevers keep you up all night,

Shivering, cowering

in the corner of the bed,

As far away from me as you can get.

I wish things were different,

I wish that I could make you better.

But even if I could have fixed you,

You still wouldn’t love me.
